SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES

(SHORT) SHORT STORIES
We prefer submissions that are between 200 and 2,500 words long with a quality of timelessness; stories with realistic, powerful dialogue and dynamic characters. We consider stories on all subject matters. On occasion, we will consider stories of longer length. Please submit one single-spaces story with a brief bio.  We do not publish previously published works. QBR reserves the right to reprint works at a later date if it is selected for inclusion in a print anthology. Send submissions to submissions@qbr.com. Please include your last name and the title of your story in the subject of your email.

POINT OF VIEW, ESSAYS, & INTERVIEWS. Send submissions to submissions@qbr.com.
We prefer submissions that are between 1000 and 2,500 words long. QBR considers essays on various topics related to general publishing, black book publishing, book publishing trends or re-occurring social issues and themes found within books. The editors are also interested in previously unpublished or published interviews with established writers, poets, and publishing professionals. On occasion, we will consider interviews with new literary voices.

POETRY
We prefer poems that are between 8 and 40 lines; well-crafted, and full of imagery, tight and highly musical. We consider poems on all subject matters in various, even experimental, styles. Please submit 2-4 single-spaced poems with a brief bio.  We ONLY publish previously published work. Send a copy of your published book or chap book to Poetry Submissions, QBR PO Box 170, Hastings on Hudson, NY 10706. QBR reserves the right to reprint work at a later date if it is selected for inclusion in a print anthology. Send submissions to submissions@qbr.com.

• A cover statement briefly giving us your publication credits (if any), and in particular telling us whether this submission has been published before.

want to know more about you for bio purposes.

• The title of the submission.
• The submission's byline. (Optional if it's the same as your legal name.)
